4. Pip's convict showed that he didn't blame Pip for the search party and his arrest by taking the blame of the stolen food and file.
5. Pip loved Joe. Pip knows that Joe is trustworthy of the secret, but Pip didn't want to put Joe into any danger as well as feeling a surge of dishonesty towards his brother-in-law to come clean.
6. Joe's father was an alcoholic that would drunkly abuse his family, so when Joe's mother wanted Joe to get an education, there was more beating from the father. Joe turned into a kind hearted person and many people claimed that he and Pip's sister would have a happy ending together. Joe was impressed by how Pip's sister raised him so well single handed.
7. Mrs. Joe was anxious for Pip to play at Miss Havisham's house because she wanted her to like him.
